Relief

The optimised and enlarged assortment of Schmincke aqua-LINOPRINT colours now consists of 15 brilliant shades as well as 3 metallic effect colours (gold, silver and copper) and 3 special mediums and 1 cleaner. For final treatment on light sized papers we recommend the Schmincke Universal fixative (Art.-No. 50 401, 400 ml).

The water-based, high-quality aqua-LINOPRINT colours contain natural binders such as gum Arabic as well as organic/inorganic pigments. They are easy to apply due to optimum open-times and result in even, sharp prints with fast drying times (wipe-resistant after approx. 15 minutes).

All colours offer maximum light fastness (4 and 5 stars) and an excellent intensity (especially black). The formulation for the colours in tubes and jars is the same. Due to its fluid consistency all aqua-LINOPRINT colours can easily be applied on different surfaces such as paper, felt, cardboard and suit also for wood engraving and printing with various materials.

The smooth colours are of pleasant odour and can be overprinted with other colours. They are intermixable, ready to use and can be diluted with water. Printing blocks and working tools can easily be cleaned with LINO clean (Art.-No. 50 903) and/or water. All 18 colours are available in tubes of 35 ml, 15 colours come also in 120 ml, black and 6 other shades in plastic jars of 250 ml.

Caligo Safe Wash RELIEF INKS are oil-based but they can be washed away safely with liquid hand soap and water. You don't need solvents to clean up these inks. They are suitable for all types of Relief or Block Printing, for example Woodcut and Wood engraving, Lettrpress and Linocut.

This range are made with a small amount of driers ( less than 1 %) If you want faster drying rates, you can add a small amount of cobalt or manganese driers.

Derivan

This block printing ink has the perfect consistency for lino and wood block printing, and transfers onto paper. It is non-toxic, water-based, and washes up easily in water.

Derivan developed this unique product for art and craft courses to give people a premium quality block printing ink that did not contain harmful solvents. Derivan Block Ink is therefore non-toxic and easy to clean up, while still giving the feel of a professional-grade oil-based printing ink.

Derivan Block Ink is available in open mouth 250ml jars.

Block Ink Medium & Extender is a versatile medium which can be used in two ways to create fantastic relief prints.

Add to Derivan Block Ink colours to extend the colour and make them more transparent without loosing the "body" of your paint, as it would happen if you only added water. Just add from 1:9 to 9:1 ratio of Block Ink Medium & Extender to Derivan Block Ink colour. Up to about 1:1 ratio the colour will be extended, after this the colour will start to become more transparent, or
Add Matisse Structure Acrylics colours to the Block Ink & Extender to create block printing ink from the paint. A ratio of 1:1 Block Ink Medium & Extender to Matisse Structure Acrylic paint colours is recommended.


 

Gamblin Relief Inks
