The highest quality winter

male Kolinsky Red Sable hair from the Tobol River region in

Eastern Siberia. Kolinsky brushes are valuable tools to

watercolourists for their water and colour-carrying capacities.

Kolinsky Sable rounds point and snap with unmatched

resilience and strength.

 

Sizes 10 to 24 are especially suited for area work and also for

the painting of fine details.

KOLINSKY

RED SABLE BRUSHES FOR OIL PAINTING

Red sable oil painting brushes have both: great resilience and

softness. They are chiefly used for spreading colour thinly and

evenly. They are excellent for precise, controlled brush

strokes, detail work, and fine blending. Red sable oil painting

brushes are fine and precious tools that must be treated and

looked after with great care.

BLACK SABLE

BRUSHES FOR OIL PAINTING

Russian black sable, also known as high quality Russian Fitch
hair, lies directly between artist Chungking bristle and the
finest Kolinsky red sable, but still gives the painter the benefits
of red sable; its stiffness allows for bristle like strokes, only
smoother without marking the paint layers. In larger sizes
black sable brushes have great colour carrying capacity.
Excellent for delicate blending and smoothing out ridges, it is
a favourite among portrait and realist painters.

It is the most stable oil painting brush in the whole
assortment. Seamless, nickel-plated brass ferrules
give it durability and black sable is a great value when
compared to Kolinsky red sable hair, especially in large sizes.
